PARTNER OF THE MONTH
Family Respite Care of Nevada
Family Respite Care of Nevada (FRC), originally founded as the Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation in 1995, is the only organization in Nevada solely dedicated to providing respite care for families raising children, teens, and young adults with a spectrum of abilities. Our mission is to improve the well-being of families by providing respite care to caregivers who have young or adult children with special needs. Guided by our core values of empathy, compassion, dedication, respect, and teamwork, we strive to create a community where every family feels supported, understood, and empowered.
FRC serves families navigating diverse challenges, including raising children with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, mental and physical delays, hearing impairments, and more. Our programs also extend to typically developing siblings, children with mental and behavioral health challenges, and those in foster or adoptive care, fostering an inclusive environment that promotes family stability and well-being.
Our vision is to build a community where every family raising children, teens, and young adults with special needs receives the compassionate support and resources necessary to thrive. FRC’s programs—such as the Family Center, Jr. and Teen Center, and Respite Voucher Program—provide caregivers with essential opportunities to rest and recharge while offering enriching experiences for children of all abilities. Through these programs, we also mentor youth, college, and community volunteers, cultivating the next generation of compassionate leaders.
Families, volunteers, or potential partners interested in joining us on this journey can visit our website at https://www.frcnevada.org/, email us at info@frcnevada.org, or call us at 775-787-3520. Together, we can nurture the well-being of families and create a brighter future for Nevada’s communities.
