Innovation Grant

PROPOSALS 

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to encourage creative collaboration by agencies that specifically specialize in providing services to those struggling with education, health care, homelessness, housing insecurity, and/or poverty to work in partnership on a new innovative initiative. A limited number of one-year Innovation Grants of up to $25,000 are available in 2025.

Family Respite Care of Nevada

Family Respite Care of Nevada (FRC), originally founded as the Northern Nevada RAVE Family Foundation in 1995, is the only organization in Nevada solely dedicated to providing respite care for families raising children, teens, and young adults with a spectrum of abilities. Our mission is to improve the well-being of families by providing respite care to caregivers who have young or adult children with special needs. Guided by our core values of empathy, compassion, dedication, respect, and teamwork, we strive to create a community where every family feels supported, understood, and empowered.

QUALIFICATIONS

Granting Financial Support to Charitable Organizations Throughout Washoe County, Nevada

The Nell J. Redfield Foundation was organized by Nell J. Redfield on November 13, 1974 to provide a vehicle for charitable giving to the causes of healthcare, education, medical research, care for needy children and women, and the homeless.

Among many qualification requirements, the Foundation makes grants to qualified, tax-exempt charitable organizations located in Washoe County, Nevada. Organizations must hold a 501(c)(3) tax exempt status and must not be private foundations.

What to Know Before Applying

In order for a grant request to be considered, written applications must be received by the Foundation at its Reno office at least ten (10) days before a regularly scheduled quarterly meeting of the Board.

What To Expect

Prospective grantees will be notified within thirty days of their application being considered whether their request was granted by the Foundation Board. Learn more about our Approval Process.
